For a major municipal utility we developed a clamp-type support to replace an existing item that supported fiber optic cable conduits within municipal manhole installations. This practical design reduced the part weight from 12 lbs. to under 2 lbs., reduced the assembled part count from 10 pcs. to 2 pcs., utilized no fasteners in a reuseable make/break assembly, was easily operated using only a screwdriver, was easily fabricated using automatic sheet metal-working machinery, and cut the overall part cost by 75%! This high volume item provided five-figure savings for the client.
