For a medical device developer we created a spreadsheet-based math model that would simulate and predict the dynamic function of a unique device. The output of the spreadsheet calculations were geometric and functional data that would accurately relate the performance of the device corresponding to different stages of operation and to changes in the part shape and size. This relatively low-cost software tool enabled the client to avoid costly hardware prototyping iterations and accelerate the design effort and schedule.
