Rich Simmers founded Mechlogic in 1997 to provide "Practical Solutions for Product Development" to product developers, inventors, manufacturers, consultants and those with an idea or a problem needing a path forward and an effective project manager to get it there. He performed his Mechanical Engineering studies at Northeastern University in Boston, MA, but equally significant is the experience which he has gained with the attitude "Give it to me - I'll get it done."
He gained significant experience at Arthur D. Little, Inc. consulting in Cambridge, MA where he started his career as an electro-mechanical technician while studying at night at Northeastern. Owing to his never-say-die attitude, he was awarded ADL's highest honor, the Presidential Award in 1990, for his contributions to a critical defense mission to move nerve gas grenades from western Germany to the South Pacific. On this fast-paced contract he and his team overcame obstacles to design, build, and deliver mission critical hardware shipboard against super-agressive deadlines that helped to ensure the safe transport of the grenades, and which earned Arthur D. Little the coveted AMMCOMM award for contractor Excellence. A year later, and on a day's notice Rich deployed a technical team to Hickham AFB in Hawaii in support of Operation Desert Storm.
He has built capital equipment in the production factory of Gloucester Engineering, and while with Molten Metal Technology Inc. helped with the mechanical design and construction of a large nuclear waste reactor in Houston TX before starting this project. With Mechlogic underway, the need to deliver high quality CAD plots to clients and the local absence of such services prompted Rich to invest in digital blueprint equipment and open the "Black & Blueprints" technical document services division and provide these services to professionals, tradesmen, and clients needing similar services.
When you hire Mechlogic, you too will enjoy the benefit of having Rich give your project the priority, attention, and dedication that it deserves. Please call us and learn more about how we can help make your design problems become engineered solutions.
